My Personal Experience at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, U.S.

(Photo: americansignco.biz)
Back in 1996 I was in Florida visiting a doctor, friend of mine, and his wife. I was gonna stay in their house for a week and then they would show me around. I was in Green Cove Springs, and we went to Gainesville, because I told him I was planning to study there to change my life completely and have a fresh start...well, I didn't, I just stayed on my course. First, we visited a few places, like Jacksonville, (we ate at The Jacksonville Landing) St. Augustine, (I saw the oldest wooden school in the whole United States, which is held by heavy chains in order not to fall down!!) and then, another day, we went to Gainesville. When we took a look at the campus and everything, we decided to eat around there...then we found this very cool place called Texas Roadhouse. It was a very western-like, very woody place, with great steaks, among many other dishes, but, they had something very particular I had never seen before. Well, when you get inside you ask yourself what the hell do peanut shells do all over the floor of the whole damn restaurant!!! When the waiter took us to our table, I understood why...You know that, when you go to a restaurant, they usually offer you bread, water, or something to keep you happy until the main dish touches your table?? This people put a galvanized steel jar in your table, filled with peanuts, just like nature intended them to be. The place's culture states that, when you eat your peanuts, you throw the shells on the floor!!! The result?? You simply cannot walk without stepping over one...very cool, huh??

Besides from that curious remark, I had one of the greatest steaks I remember and enjoyed a great western ambiance, which to this day I remember. This is a big restaurant chain with many locations across the U.S. Go here to look at their menu. To know more about the store I visited in Gainesville, click here.
See you at the Roadhouse!!

Glad you enjoyed it!! I have lived in Texas for many years now, and I too was surprised the first time I walked into a steakhouse and crunched peanut shells under my shoes! But it's pretty funny. TX roadhouse and the TX Land & Cattle steakhouses are the best, definitely :)
